Fig. 1 Contrast-enhanced CT scans revealed an intimal flap in the SMA. SMA-to-aorta diameter ratio(SMA/Ao)was increased from 0.66 in 1997 to 0.85 in 1999. Actual diameter has enlarged during 2 years.

MCA: middle colic artery, 1st jej.: first jejunal branch, RCA: right colic artery, ICA: ileocolic artery, jejunal a: jejunal arteries, SVG: saphenous vein graft, IPDA: inferior pancreaticoduodenal artery

Fig. 2 Selective SMA angiogram clearly demonstrated the presence and extent of dissection. MCA, RCA and ICA were originated from the false lumen, on the other hand, jejunal branches originated from the true lumen(a: before operation). 3 years after operation, angiogram showed widely patent SMA(b: after operation).

Fig. 3 Cross sections of the resected SMA clearly showed the true lumen and the false lumen(a), entry and reentry(b). The proximal segment of SMA was not dissected.
